Psychologist – Psychotherapist

Katerina Tsomou was born and raised in Thessaloniki. Since 2021, she has been living and working in Athens.

Initially, Katerina started her studies at the Law School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received the Excellence Award from Eurobank. However, her sincere interest in people and her innate desire to help them with the problems they face led her to switch to the field of psychology.

Following her true calling, Katerina completed her studies at the Department of Psychology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as at the Department of Psychology at the University of Caen in Normandy (Université de Caen, Normandie).

Throughout and after her studies, Katerina volunteered with vulnerable groups (supporting people with HIV/AIDS, “The Smile of the Child,” refugee support, etc.), both in Greece and abroad (Italy, Belgium, etc.).

Her professional training did not stop here. After completing her studies, she participated in numerous experiential seminars. She successfully completed the Psychodynamic Infant Observation Seminar from Dikesy, as well as the experiential annual training “Creative Journeys” in Play Therapy and Dramatherapy at the Greek Institute “Thyrma.” Finally, she successfully completed the postgraduate seminar in Clinical Psychopathology “Panagiotis Oulis” from EPYPSY.

Katerina is a cheerful and positive individual, characterized by her inherent kindness and empathy. She stands out for her warm and supportive behavior, which strengthens the building of a healthy therapeutic relationship with her clients.

As a psychologist, she follows a complex therapeutic approach combining elements from existential and systemic therapy, areas in which she specializes.

Studies and Training

  • BSc in Psychology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, also attended the Department of Psychology at the University of Caen in Normandy (Université de Caen, Normandie).
  • Specialization in Systemic Psychotherapy through the corresponding postgraduate program at the Therapeutic and Educational Institute “Antistixi.”
  • Participated in numerous training seminars, workshops, and conferences, and continues her professional development and stays updated on the latest developments in psychology and psychotherapy.
  • Participation in a specialized seminar on Couples Therapy and Counseling from Columbia University (UK).

Certifications and Recognition

  • Certified psychologist and holds a Professional Psychologist License issued by the General Directorate of Public Health and Social Welfare of the Central Macedonia Region.

Professional Experience

Katerina has volunteered and worked professionally in various psychological support structures in Greece and abroad (Italy, Belgium, etc.), dealing with a significant number of cases covering a wide range of issues.

She has been a permanent member of our team since 2021 and works at our center as a psychologist-psychotherapist.
